The next one is on the 6th of July at the Kings Arms in Silsden, if it tickles your fancy you're more than welcome.

Thanks again

Posted to: Get your site out Show Thread | Post Reply Mon, 21 Jun 2010 07:44:54 -0500 TomG http://www.avbn.org.uk/business-advice/show/21?start=0#post22 Get your site out http://www.avbn.org.uk/business-advice/show/21#post21
Site popularity dictates search results in search engines such as Google and Yahoo. By creating backlinks to your website you will improve search results.

There are several ways of creating back links to your website.

1, Write articles on your business subject, you can then submit your articles to article directories. By choosing a few key words in your articles and turning them into links to your website pages will get your pages ranked in search engines. Most article directories also have an authors box where you will be able to add a link to your site. Try to submit differant artilces to differant directories. To find article directories search google for Article Directories. Most are free.

2, Submit your website to the many free web directories on the internet. there are 1000's of them. When doing this you will require the following info.

Title (the title of your site or page)
Website address
Description. A description of your site (do not fill with keywords)
meta tags. keywords
meta description. ( a brief description of your site )
email address (create one just for directories)
Name (username)

This can be time consuming to make it easier use firefox browser and add the InFormEnter plugin get from http://informenter.mozdev.org/index.html

A good directory list is available at http://www.vmoptions.com/directory-list.php

Just a few tips to improve your website.

http://www.keighleyonline.co.uk
http://www.yazzoo.org web directory

Posted to: Get your site out Show Thread | Post Reply Sun, 20 Jun 2010 11:17:57 -0500 Amiman http://www.avbn.org.uk/business-advice/show/21#post21 Re: Business start-up event June 9th http://www.avbn.org.uk/business-advice/show/16?start=0#post17
That's great Candy,
Just to Confirm this event will be taking place at Silsden Town Hall

Posted to: Business start-up event June 9th Show Thread | Post Reply Fri, 28 May 2010 07:24:19 -0500 TomG http://www.avbn.org.uk/business-advice/show/16?start=0#post17 Business start-up event June 9th http://www.avbn.org.uk/business-advice/show/16#post16
There will be a free taster session from the 'Amaze Yourself' team on 9th June at 6.30pm in the town hall. If so there is a group called the Yorkshire Mafia, if you're not a member already it's definitely worth joining. For requests like this I've done a quick post similar to you've done here and the feedback I've had has been brilliant, for every one I've posted I've normally had at least 10/15 introductions / recommendations within the hour.

Posted to: Desperately Seeking Accountant Show Thread | Post Reply Wed, 05 May 2010 11:00:37 -0500 TomG http://www.avbn.org.uk/business-advice/show/5?start=0#post7 Desperately Seeking Accountant http://www.avbn.org.uk/business-advice/show/5#post5
I have been asked for a local, approacheable accountant by a Silsden based business, does anyone know of one?
(Candy Squire-Watt, Bizfizz coach.)

Posted to: Desperately Seeking Accountant Show Thread | Post Reply Wed, 05 May 2010 06:59:01 -0500 Candy http://www.avbn.org.uk/business-advice/show/5#post5
